Here are the stations of our 15 day – Camping – Trip through Southern Queensland<\/em> <\/strong>starting 26th Dec 2019 from our home at the Gold Coast into the New Year 2020. Originally we had planned to head south towards the Blue Mountain area, however because of the fire situation and the bad news we changed our plans and went north instead. We only booked one campsite at the end from 6th Jan on, a place we know and have visited before. For our orientation we used WikiCamps Australia App – which we highly recommend because of the valid information and the reviews other campers have left for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The total trip was 2200 km and we had 15 full days to come home to the Gold Coast. Here are the stations, places we visited and where we spent the nights. For your information I will add some stopovers and some photos as well. We tried not to drive more than 200 km on a travelling day and wished to stay at least 2 nights, if possible 3 or more nights according to what we would do and see ….<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toowoomba<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our first stop were the Showgrounds<\/a> – no booking though Christmas, and we really liked the place, cash collected in the late afternoon. We stayed for 2 nights \/ 25 AUD p.n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Via the A 3 and Crows Nest to Munduberra <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Via the Camping App we had chosen the campsite THREE RIVERS<\/a>, which we highly recommend. We liked the place and area – fruit bowl of QLD and Australia \/ so much, that we stayed 2 nights here. Surprising the price of the site: Only 22 AUD p.n. as a Christmas Special. Very clean and nice and tidy, shade in the late afternoon and very nice neighbours! And we loved the pool – cool and clear water!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exploring the fruit farms by car and walking through the small country town and along the river bank was really worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Via Eidsvold to Biloela<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stopover was after a short drive in the morning the R M Williams Learning Centre<\/a>, which we had visited online and checked out the opening hours. Though the last day of the year, the centre was open and we enjoyed the infos about farm life and  the drovers and the history of the area, where R M Williams<\/a><\/em><\/strong> started his boots production to meet the needs of the country people. Following the A 60 to Tannum Sands south of Gladstone<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We explored Gladstone from here and went back to the small coastal town of TANNUM SANDS<\/a> at the river, a campsite we would visit again, there was no reservation necessary as the first campers had left already after their Xmas vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Camping at Moore Park Beach<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This campsite is right at the beach and was still busy, however no problem booking a powered site one day before our arrival. As only 20 km from Bundaberg, we would visit this campsite again. Next time I would try the campsite before at Woodgate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hervey Bay<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our second visit at Hervey Bay, very busy because of the summer vacations, however we had a booked powered site 3rd row from the beach<\/a>, a great place close to the town and next to the Wetside Water Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
