Link)

2. Ist ein Vorbild an Neugier, also Vorbild fuer Life-long Learning: Er lernt nie aus, anstatt vorgeben, immer alles zu wissen.

Dann einfach weiterlesen …(phb)

Warum scheitern so viele junge Lehrer? Durch was genau?

4 Minus bzw. 04 Zensurenpunkte!

Kommt also nie vor.

– It’s important to note that while these challenges exist, many universities are also working hard to address these issues and improve the quality of education they provide. This applies to High Schools all over the planet as well.

More here soon …

Lehrer und Schule | Reading

What is school for, anyway? (Author Herman Giesecke – Retired)

Hermann Giesecke, a renowned educator from the University of Goettingen, Lower Saxony Germany and now retired, has written a book “What is the school for?”

Giesecke sees the school as a place of school learning, teaching and education. He emphasizes that this school learning only takes place at school, not so much at home.

He criticizes the current Zeitgeist, which has psychologized everything, infantilized children and turned teachers and parents from role models into “buddies” – this cannot work at all.

The consequences of this development can be seen in our German schools: Nobody is happy with the outcomes any more.

Giesecke calls for a pedagogical turnaround and emphasizes that teachers must return to their actual mission, which is teaching in a structured asnd well prepared way: Good Teaching and good Lessons.

He argues that school is designed for rael learning experiences. His observations and conclusions are understood as “total didactic quality development proposals”.

Giesecke has described a systematic theory of professional, i.e. professional pedagogical action. He argues that there are always several possibilities for reasonable pedagogical action.

The main goal of pedagogical action is to enable learning as far as this is possible in awareness and in argumentative mutual exchange.

He defines learning as everything you know or can do that you didn’t know or couldn’t do before the lesson.

Giesecke argues that pedagogically staged learning can basically only ever be cognitive learning that runs through mind, thinking and consciousness: It must have lasting effects.

He believes that learning in public institutions such as schools, youth facilities or further training centres for adults serves the goal of acquiring generally recognised maturity, developing character and know how in action.

Giesecke criticizes many current developments in pedagogy and the school as aberrations of the Zeitgeist and calls for a return to the narrower tasks of the school in the classroom: Effective and real Teaching and Learning.

He emphasized that parents should make their children capable of reception.

In a nutshell:

He emphasizes that parents should prepare their children for school teaching: Reception. This means that parents are responsible for preparing their children for school by teaching basic skills of behavior and politeness at home before they enter the local school. This includes listening skills.

Giesecke is of the opinion that parents should not entrust education to school alone. In other words, while school plays an important role in children’s education and development, parents should still play an active role in their children’s education by being there for their children during meals and more. This should not be according to gender roles like Mother at Home in the Kitchen and Father outside in the office at work.

He argues that parents should encourage their children to develop an awareness of learning and engage in argumentative discussions. This can help children do better in school and develop a deeper understanding of what they are learning there and for what purpose. Parents should not antagonize school and teachers but rather seek regular contact with the school teachers or staff.

Source: Conversation with Bing, 11 May 2024 prompted by Author P H Bloecker

What is the school for – bildung-wissen.eu

What is the school for? by Hermann Giesecke – bücher.de

What is the purpose of the – hermann-giesecke.de

What is the school for? by Hermann Giesecke – bücher.de

Learn more about good schools in Australia and John Hattie (Retired now) via

AITSL Website | Quality And Schools in Australia

Linked

This site is based on my experience as a High School Teacher since 1977 in Berlin, Lower Saxony, Windhoek Namibia and Brisbane in Queensland Australia.
